Call for Offers for Semester 1 Placements 2025
United for Success: Expressing our appreciation to OT Clinical Educators and preparing for the next student placements.
Student placements for Semester 2 2024 are well underway, with almost half of the students from each university currently on placement across the state. The students are being exposed to an array of practice areas and placement locations such as Weipa, Mount Isa, Thursday Island and Longreach just to name a few. We want to sincerely thank you for your ongoing support and contribution to the student’s education through placement offers. You provide an authentic practice experience which is invaluable.
Although these placements are currently occurring, OT Futures is in the process of organising the next long block placements. The first call for offers for Semester 1 Placements 2025 will occur on Monday the 19th of August. We will be requiring approximately 600 long block placements ranging from 5 to 12 weeks from January to July 2025 for 3rd year, 4th year, or Graduate Entry Masters (GEMS) students. Placement offers are due Friday the 20th of September, and you will receive an email reminder for call for offers before this date.
This is a great opportunity for you to further contribute to the development of our amazing profession and to expand on your own clinical education, supervision and leadership skills. If you are interested in making a placement offer for this period, you can do so by:
- Responding to the email that you will receive from your local university or our centralised mail out system (mailchimp) which includes an offer form where you can outline your placement offers.
- You can contact your local university or info@OTFutures.com to discuss placement options and to express your interest to offer student placement.
We appreciate that it can be difficult to know what your availability is and to plan so far in advance. If you are interested in hosting a student placement next semester however are unsure if you can commit at this time, please note this on the offer form; or email your local university and we can contact you in the future.
If you are uncertain about your requirements as a Clinical Educator or how to best prepare for a student placement, please reach out to your local university representative who can provide advice and information.
Thank you again and we look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with you to ensure quality, diverse student placement experiences.
