Call for Offers for Semester 2 Placements 2024
Shaping Futures: Expressing our gratitude to OT Clinical Educators and Preparing for the Next Wave of Student Placements.
Student placements for Semester 1 2024 are already in full swing, and the year is moving fast. We want to extend our gratitude to all of you who have already provided opportunities for student placements for the first half of this year. Knowing that the start of July will be upon us before we know it, it’s the time to start preparing for student placements for July-December this year. We would love for you to consider if you can be involved in the next wave of student placements to shape tomorrow’s occupational therapists. Approximately 600 long block placements ranging from 5 to 12 weeks will be required from July-December 2024 for 3rd year, 4th year, or Graduate Entry Masters students.
If you would like to make a placement offer for this period, there are several ways you can do so.
- You may already have received an email from your local university or our centralised mail out system (mailchimp) which includes an offer form where you can outline your placement offers.
- You can contact your local university or info@OTFutures.com to discuss placement options and to express your interest to offer student placement.
If your organisation would like to receive offers via the centralised mail out system (mailchimp), please email the name and email address of your preferred contact to our OT Futures email address.
We are aware that it may sometimes be difficult to plan or commit to offering a placement so far ahead. If you have an interest in offering a placement next semester but are unsure if you can commit at this time, please either note this clearly on the offer form; or email your local university and we can contact you in the future.

Whether you're a seasoned supervisor or just starting out, there are workshops to cater to all experience levels. Explore topics such as 'preparation for supporting student placements', 'tips for using the SPEF-R2 tool', 'managing students at risk on placement', 'facilitating clinical reasoning', and more. Some are face to face workshops and others are multi-modal or can be completed online. There are also opportunities to access sessions tailored to the needs of your workplace/context. Gain invaluable insights and practical strategies to enhance your supervision skills and support student learning challenges effectively.
